So that's why Ayrton Senna's go-kart from the 1978 World Karting Championship should be interesting -- it's nowhere near as fast as his Lotus 97T, but it shows that "Gran Turismo" wasn't kidding when developers said they wanted fans to chart the entirety of Senna's life. Plus, if you make it go 352 mph you can finally stick it to Prost.
Koenigsegg Agera R gets Guinness World Speed Record - Video
One of the speed records set back in September by the incredible Koenigsegg Agera R has now been ratified by Guinness - 0-300-0 km/h (0-186-0 mph) in 21.9 seconds. As we say every time Koenigsegg jumps in to vision with another bonkers car or speed feat, we’re amazed at just what a handful of men with beards (except Christian von Koenigesgg – who doesn’t seem to have a hair to his name) can do from a shed in the snow of Sweden. What makes Koenigsegg even more impressive is that it’s not just that they produce a stunning looking hypercar, but that they do it all themselves.
Jaguar XF Estate - Expected to show as a Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September
Jaguar doesn’t have the best history on estate cars (the X-Type Estate, although a reasonable car – and 4WD – was just a Mondeo with smart clothes) but the Jaguar XF is such a triumph for Jaguar that I’m sure we’ll see the XF Estate taking the fight to the Germans in a big way. It’s reasonable to expect the standard engines and trim versions to carry over to the Estate, but apparently so will the mighty XFR trim. Which means we will see a Jaguar Estate car which will be able to take on the likes of the M5 Estate, the E63 AMG Estate and the RS6 Estate.
